Rabi Lamichhane Political Career
Rabi Lamichhane made his intention to run for a seat in the House of Representatives in the 2022 general elections known on June 16, 2022. When he announced his resignation from Galaxy 4k TV on June 21, 2022.
He declared himself a candidate on November 13, 2022, in Chitwan, as he was campaigning, his automobile vandalized. During his campaign for the general election in 2022, a complaint submitted requesting the withdrawal of his candidacy.
The complainant asserted that dual citizenship is not permitted in Nepal and that he had not relinquished it. His Nepali citizenship while also holding American citizenship
After regaining Nepali citizenship, he ran in the April 2023 by-election for his seat, Chitwan 2, and won with a margin of victory that was even higher than in the regular election of 2022
Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP)
Rastriya Swatantra Party was announced in June 2022 by Rabi Lamichhane. Later, the party registered with the Election Commission of Nepal on July 1st, 2022. Now the RSP party is the fourth largest party in Nepal.
Rabi is more focused on the election of 2084 B.S. and has challenged all the parties to defeat RSP in the House of Representatives election in 2084 B.S. Today, there is no political party left that has yet to be accused, said by Rabi Lamichhane
Today there are 20 House of Representatives in the RSP party and they are currently not in government.
