Born on April 27, 1990, Balen Shah is a Nepalese rapper and leader outside of politics. Balendra Shah is also known as Balen Shah. He is the youngest child of Ram Narayan Shah and Dhruva Devi Shah.
His maternal house is at Dhanusha, whereas his paternal ancestral home is in Mahottari Ekdara Rural Municipality. After his father was assigned to Naradevi Ayurvedic Hospital, his parents relocated from Mahottari to Kathmandu. In 2018, he wed Sabina Kafle. She works in the field of public health.

At Alliance Academy, Balen completed his academic career. At the V.S. Niketan higher secondary school, he completed his 10+2 coursework.
He finished his undergraduate studies at Himalayan Whitehouse International College, earning a BE in civil engineering.
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), in Karnataka, India, awarded him a master’s degree in technology (M-Tech) in structural engineering as well.

He began blending and rhyming poet through rap gradually. In 2012, he released Sadak Balak, a song he created when he was in the ninth school which he released after graduating. The song depicts how street kids are treated unfairly and socially.

Balendra Shah received 38.6% of the vote on May 26, 2022, and was chosen as the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan. By a margin of more than 23,000 votes, he defeated Keshav Sthapit of the CPN (UML) and former mayor Srijana Shrestha of the Nepali Congress.
